Parents will be using Microsoft Bookings to schedule virtual conferences with you. Bookings will create the event in your GCA outlook calendar along with a Teams links. Click the following link to view the Parent/Teacher Conference Booking page. Parents can only book a conference with you during parent-teacher conference window. By default parents can schedule a meeting with you between the hours of 8am to 8pm. Bookings reads your personal calendar. You will need to block out hours that you are not available.
To block out times that you cannot/do not want to have a conference:
- Open your calendar (Outlook Desktop/mobile or Outlook Web)
- Create new event
- The title of the event is not read by Booking, so it can be customized however you want to notate that you are unavailable
- Use the calendar drop-down boxes next to Start time and End time to select the date of your event
- You can override the default 30 min. incremental start/ending time
- Click save.
Once you have set up your calendar with all of your blocked out availability, verify your availability by browsing back to the Bookings Page. Select your name, and each of the respective dates to make sure your availability is correct.
Once parents register for a conference you will get an e-mail (see below), and the conference will automatically appear in your calendar.
